Time to read: 2 minutes. Wondering how to sell on social media? Here’s where to start, step-by-step. Just follow these 3 success principles. Soon you’ll be converting blog visitors, Facebook fans or YouTube viewers to leads and sales. Ok, here we go!
The ‘Big 3’
Today’s biggest social media sales success stories like HubSpot, LogMyCalls, River Pools and Spas and a handful of others use a simple, proven approach. Now it’s time for you to apply it. This is how to sell on social media in 3 simple steps.
Content that converts visitors to sales leads does three things. It produces…
- Results: it doesn’t just impart knowledge; it increases the success rate of prospects (for free).
- Action: customers cannot resist DOING stuff with it—including signing up to become a lead.
- Confidence: buyers ultimately convert based on trust created by positive results.
Reality check: You can publish dozens of blog posts … and get lots of traffic to your Web site … but if what you publish doesn’t convert Web site visitors to sales leads? You’re just wasting time. This is the better way.
Create results: Move the needle
My goal for you, right now, is for you to finish this article, apply my tips AND experience an increase in success. Period.
Forget about you liking me—or even sharing this article. That’s not my goal. FIRST I need you to experience a positive result.
I need to move your needle.
You see, if I deliver a result you will probably share the good news with friends. You will likely consider and possibly even buy from me. Why? Because I just proved myself. I moved your needle.
I gave you self-confidence.
Create action using curiosity
For years we’ve been told “create compelling content!” So we got busy. We’ve been blogging about why customers should consider, select and buy from us. But in the end, most blogs fail to get discovered by prospects. Blog posts that DO get read often fail to earn leads. Why?
Curiosity.
The difference between content that converts (and all the other crap out there) is simple: It gives prospects a free sample or “taste” of actual success. Real results. PLUS it creates a hunger for more. Effective content makes people curious.
Content that creates leads makes prospects think, “gosh, I wonder what else the author of this article knows that I need to know!” or “wow, I see the opportunity more clearly now; how can I get access to more of this kind of thinking?”
That’s how to sell on social media.
Blog articles, YouTube videos, LinkedIn and Facebook updates that convert eyeballs to leads play on prospects’ desire to be more confident in themselves.
So ask yourself:
- Does what you publish, right now, solve a problem for the prospect or help them achieve a goal faster… in ways that creates confidence?
- Are your social media activities creating hunger for more self-confidence in the customer?
- Do your blogs, updates, videos or Webinars give prospects a place to direct their curiosity (in ways that generates leads)?
To see an example of what I’m talking about in action take a look at every blog article you’ll find on this site or on MakeSocialMediaSell.com/blog. This is the same method I use over-and-over—because it works so well at creating leads for my business.
Or maybe you’re hungry enough to get started on applying this technique in your business. I’ll step you through it—in this FREE social media sales training course. In 3 videos and 2 worksheets (sent via email) I will show you how, step-by-step, to do exactly what I just described. Game? See you in the tutorial!
